Thumbs up NEFTA Hunter round 4 - Thorn Dell FTC - 16th July

This is an open event, just turn up, book in and have fun. No need to be a member of NEFTA or the BFTA and no need to Pre-Book.

There are two sessions - first one starts at 9am, 2nd at about 11:30am.

It's a full 30 peg, 30 target HFT course shot to the same rules and guidelines as the national UKAHFT events with a couple of minor tweaks - you can read the rules on the NEFTA Hunter website ( www.neftahunter.co.uk ). I bet you'll be hard pressed to spot the 'tweaks'.

There are no winners as such, so no shoot-offs to wait around for etc, no trophies, and no presentation ceremony at the end.

We do run an award scheme though - Gold, Silver and Bronze merit badges for those that reach the required standards. These are at a cost that everyone can afford.

The price is just £3.50 for adults and £2.00 for Juniors (under the age of 15). Everyone's welcome, shooters and non-shooters alike.

Grub wagon will be serving nosh from the early hours, for those who can't be bothered to labour in their kitchen in the early hours of the morning.

We're hoping to make this round extra special, course wise. This would be a first for us!

Hope to see you all there.
    Paul.

POSTCODE FOR ALL THOSE TOM-TOM USERS.. DL17 9BB. Thanks to Gerard for that.

PS. Thanks to Brian Samson, for it is he who wrote the above. I just C&P'd and edited it from another thread of his. Hope you don't mind, Bri.

Is Geordie going to manage to think up an excuse for avoiding this one?
"It's too far" is not an option. "I'm not a member" is also out. Go a, go an, go an. Dan, it would be nice to see you there even if it's only for a social!

And you reckon there's no pressure

@Kieran - Are you shooting a springer for this one? You know it makes sense

You couldn't ask for a more gentle introduction to HFT than this series - if you mention to the person in the Stats office that you haven't shot HFT before, they'll pair you up with an experienced competition shooter to help you learn the ropes. (If you've managed to bring the right rifle AND tighten up your scope mounts, then we might pair you up with Kieran - he needs all the help he can get)

There are no trophies at these events, this helps to keep the cost of entry down (just £3.50 for adults) and also makes the whole thing nice and relaxed.

For those that are worried that they might not do too well and would like to keep their score between you, me and the gatepost there's a Privacy checkbox on your scorecard, just tick the box and your score will not be published or disclosed to anyone.

1st session starts at 9am after a safety briefing and the 2nd session will start at around 11:30am.

I was away on my hols so you've done me a favour posting this up.

I'd just like to add that although this is billed as the NEFTA Hunter Series, all of the events are shot to Full UKAHFT affiliated club rules and guidelines.

So if you're oooop North and those UKAHFT national events are a bit too far to travel for you, why not pop into the Dell on the 16th - they're a friendly bunch up there even if they do talk funny.

So far there are 4 shooters in the running for a Platinum Phoenix award at this event :-

    Paul Wilson
    Andy Calpin
    Pete Dutton
    Keiran Turner

Having reached Gold standard at every event so far this season. Will the Dell prove to be the stumbling block for them? Can Wilson hold onto his lead over Calpin? Will Turner remember to tighten up his scope mounts - all these questions and more will be answered on the 16th July.

For full details about the Series, pop along to www.neftahunter.co.uk

Hope to see you all there
