Is there any difference between the ABT on these two rifles?
Someone said the MkIII's was crap compared to the PS, but my gun shop today said they are identical?
Help please guys, thanks!

I think they are basically the same thing activated in a different way.
I have a Tx200HC and the ABT is there to stop the rifle from cutting your fingers
off in the case of an accidental depression of the trigger whilst loading.
As far as I know, they both work.
See which one works best for you.

I'm back.
On the ProSport, its automatic, but on the TX its manual. Some people think the TX method is clumsy, and makes a clicking noise, but you soon get used to it.
I prefer the looks and balance of the P/S, but got the TX 'cos it was cheaper. Internally, they share many parts, and they are both very accurate.
(And they're British... Taa Raah..! )

The ox is slow, but the earth is patient.
The PS one is invisible, silent and automatic. It works with an internal spring-loaded mechanism and is difficult to disable if you need to decock the rifle.
The TX one is noisy, manual and external which crudely operates using deep notches cut into the outside of the compression cylinder - which are clearly visible when the breech is closed.
I don't know which is more efficient, if either one is, but I much prefer the discreet PS one.
