    BSA Lincoln Jeffries

A friend of mine was chatting down the club on Sunday and was planning to buy a BSA Lincoln Jeffries H model. It was made in 1906 and had been recently re-blued and had all the original parts and was in full working order. The shop he was going to get it from was asking £500 for it. I thought that this was a bit excessive and had a look in my latest edition of The Blue Book which gave a value of $500 (£270) for a mint example. I assume that this is the value in the US so what would be a realistic price to pay in the UK?

    Cheers for any info.

Hi Stewart, thanks for the email regarding the club.

John Knibbs sells these restored for the same price (£500), I personally don't like to see them be reblued etc, but each to his own.

A Model "H" in good working oder with it's proper open sights about £140 - £180 sold privately.

So in mint condition but restored as new £270 would seem about right, but if it was mint condition but unrestored, it may be worth a lot more to the right buyer.

I sold one last year in nice original condition for about £160 IIRC.

£500 IMO is far too much.

    Cheers Ben
I though that it was a bit OTT. My friend thinks he is friends with the shop owner but I think he is taking advantage of him, he has brought several guns in the past thinking he was getting a good deal but I though he had paid far too much for them. I'll pass the info on but I suspect that he will still buy it

Hope to see you at the club soon

I don't think that would be fair. I have shopped there a few times and I found them ok depending on who serves you, but they seemed to have latched onto my friend and try to flog him any old rubbish that is hanging about in the corner of the stock room

From your location you would be unlikley to come accross him anyway
