    Scope Removal/refitting

    Comment invited on this please:
Today I removed my scope from its mounts and then the mounts from my rifle. It was zeroed very nicely. After trying a different height of mount, I decided to stick with the original so back on it all went.
Now I expected some shift in zero but thought a few clicks would do.However left/right needed nearly 2 turns to get back to zero, but up/down needed less than 10 clicks.scope is proair 6-18 with bdc turrets.
Has anyone else found similar large shift or is this a bit fishy?
I use BKL mounts which are supposed to stay very central as they are tightened.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks Mand

Thanks for that 99clomp,will remove and refit and try to tighten up nice and even. Then must stop fiddling with it, if that does solve it!

Maybe you used the front mount at the back instead of versa vice.
Or you may have had them turned around (so the screws tighten from the other side). Don't know about bkl mounts but it also depends on how wide the grooves on your rifle are, if the mounts only pinch from one side, that determines if they are central.
