    Walther LG springer help needed

I have a 1950's walther lg51 air rifle. I need to replace a spring in the trigger unit. The design is the same as the 53 and 55. I unscrewed the end cap but the spring is still held in tension.......how is it released?
    Any help please boffins?

    Stop!!!

I suggest you take the Walther to an experienced air gun smith.
The LG 51/53/55 trigger mechanisms should only be worked on by people with proper drawings, manuals, experience, tools, and three hands.
    How do I know this?
Without a son-law with an engineering degree, loads of mechanical skills, and hours of tinkering, my LG53 would still be a bag of parts.

I can't find a local gunsmith who can take it on. I've got hold of a schematic and know a few engineers. But really don't want to do it myself. anymore detailed advice?

Ok I've recieved advice and easily removed the trigger unit. Someone in the Mekon like collective consiousness of BBS must have some info on the trigger unit that I can pass on to an engineer. Please?

Is the brain cell in the pub/out shooting/gone fishing/ or on holiday?
This is such a nice little gun and a quality piece of engineering, its far too good to be defeated by!

    Question

Schamoood mutha fudger . sure someone must know a friend/uncle/kissing cousin/poodle/single cell organism who has worked on one of these beauties?
I have however found out that the 51 trigger is not as complex as the 53/55 unit as it only has a single adjustment.

Try asking Dave (DM80) if he can help. It seems to me that there's very little, if anything, to do with airguns that the man can't sort.

Have a look at www.jgairguns.biz an American firm who have spares etc for the LG51/53/55.
