Depends what gun its going on.
Hi guys, just about to take delivery of a hawke air max 5.5-16x44ao and realised I've got no idea what mounts to get for it . Can someone please enlighten me as to wether I'll need medium or high mounts for the 44mm objective lens (not forgetting they will also have to allow for the parallex ring).
Many thanks in advance .

If its a PCP, with a "step down" between the scope dovetail and the barrel, medium mounts will be fine. If its a "flat top" springer you will probably need highs. It also depends on the height of the cheekpiece, and your eye position.

Its going on me HF Spitfire which has a maxi-grip scope rail, I guess this would let me get away with using mediums?Originally Posted by Murphy

Ralph,
If you still want the QB you can call down the club for it and pick up a set of Pro Mount Pro Lock 2 piece mounts if you like, i have both medium and high in stock at good prices
Steve.
Firm but fair.
Thanks for the kind offer Steve but if I'm only gonna need medium mounts I think I've got a pair of BSA scopemasters lying around. As for the QB, yep, I'll still have it, possibly next time I come down but I need to sell a few things first . Too many guns . Sorry I havn't been able to make an apperance at the club the last few weeks, I've been busy with end of year school stuff and holidays. Is the next meeting this sunday or the following?Originally Posted by steve D
