    Rapid noisy action

i was comparing my fac mk2 rapid with a m8's at the club yesterday and noticed how considerably quiter his was than mine. When chronoed his was running at 35ft/lb and mine was 30ft/lb. On closer inspection the noise from my gun was not a louder muzzle blast but a 'crack' coming from the action. The probe is tight (no puffing)and the screw under the front mount is tight.
Is there any way of quieting the action, mabey the valve set up needs tuning!
Any ideas, it really deafen the ear when next to the action. I chronoed a string of shots from a 180 bar fill and was getting 60 shots before the pressure dropped off, the shot to shot consistency was quite lacking.

I have a Mark one Rapid 17 , which has a noisy rear action.

It has been checked over by many Rapid Expert's @ Lea Valley.

But advised that some are noisy.

The gun fires well , so leaving alone.
