    Pistol power limit in Spain?

I know that air rifles are limited to 24Joules in Spain but what about pistols? I've done the search but can't find any reference.

I have heard that the pistol power limit is also 24.4J. (!). Hmmm. Thinking Falcon, thinking new BSA that's been rumoured...

    Why do you ask anyway?

Mmmmm thinking Falcon pistol at 24.4J huh? I reckon that would be 3 shots between refills then.

    I'll get me bottle........

I’m probably moving to Spain next year – out of this ‘knee-jerk, knee-jerk, ban it, ban it, ban it’ country for ever. I’ll probably sell my rifles (can’t hunt with airguns in Spain?) but I couldn’t sell my target pistols. I’ve always thought that I’d shoot better if the lock-time was shorter – and 24J (~1050 Ft/sec with a 7 Grain R10) would definitely help!

    Supersonic

That's around 17lbs/ft old money (three times the UK power limit) and most likely supersonic too.

Probably melt the pellet before it got out of the barrel.

Dunno what sort of accuracy you would get with that as a target pistol but for hunting, and without a silencer I think you'd scare off all living things within a 3km radius.

Still, wouldn't mind a play with it

Nearer 18fpe I think, but, hey, who's counting? With a medium/heavy pellet then .177 is just on the limit and shoots straight as a very straight thing at this energy. Sweeeet. .22 is nowhere near supersonic, of course, and there are plenty of .22 pistols around.

Can't hunt with airguns nor rimfire nor silencers nor lamps in Spain. Wouldn't want to hunt with a pistol anyway. An 18fpe plinker pistol would be in my mind...

So are we (slightly longer timescale due to the amount of work we need to do on our 'house' out there).

Land's cheap in many places in Spain and Gamos aren't that great - you may want to take your rifles, too. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->
