This must be devasting for the family concerned and I am really sorry for them.

This is also just what we don't need with this restriction obsessed Government. But I wonder how old the boys are who are being questioned? Currently we know nothing of the circumstances.

    Very sorry for the family.

But once again people will want harder restrictions on the availablity of airguns where if the current laws were adhered to then this tragedy would never have happened.

It would be interesting to find out whether these young boys had managed to get hold of the airgun by themselves or if it had been given to them as a 'toy' by some well meaning adult.

Tragic as it is, the law is quite clear on 12yr olds and airguns, they must be supervised by an adult. So will the media launch a campaign to have the adult owner of the airgun prosecuted to the full extent of the law for allowing the airgun to fall in to the hands of the 12yr olds and therefore send a message to anyone else who doesn't supervise juniors. Or will they launch into a hysterical attack on gun ownership ?

Betting is closed on the outcome
    I'm telling you it moved!

My sympathies go out to the family at this terrible terrible time.I know exactly what they are going through from my own experience. It is a tragedy for them and after a while they will become very very angry at the manner of their sons untimely death.

All the responsible members of the air gunning fraternity will, rightly so, be absolutely horified at the use of an air gun in this sad incident. However I just hope that society calls this correctly. It isnt the gun or the knife that does the killing, they are merely the chosen implements of the sad sick minds that perpetrate these deeds. They have somehow managed to get hold of a dangerous tool in the wrong hands and it makes my blood boil that they have managed to do this. Where were the parents or guardians of these children whilst this attack or accident took place? I firmly believe this lack of parental control is the root cause of many of todays evils.

I really do feel for this family at this time. David

I really feel for the parents of this child as I think it happend fairly close to me. I myself was shot with an air rifle when I was 10 years old. My older brother had been shooting cans with his Airsporter, he turned the gun into my face saying it wasn't loaded, guess what? yes it was. As he pulled the trigger I lifted my head and the pellet bounced off the underside of my chin-bone and lodged in my throat 3 inches further down. My old man beat seven shade of ****e out of him and smashed the gun to bits. Shame about the gun.

Lets hope justce finds a way to deal with the people responsible for this tragic event.
