    Inder,

The pic I sent you is good enough. Just ignore what you labelled as '1'.

Your goal should be a smooth, consistant and accurate rifle, not a recoiling beast.

I have no idea how large your cylinder is but if it's anything like the larger Nationals, you should then be more than satisfied with 12 ft.lbs. at the most - without dieseling.

    Hi Rustam,

I tuned my old national (Was afraid to tune 75 MOD) on sunday. I bought a new spring and a leather washer from delhi and fit them in.Rifle is shooting quite nice (Ya quite powerfull and with lower recoil ) but its giving strange sounds like tak tak tak (from spring) while cocking..And the cocking handle below barrel also bent a bit..

Is this due to longer spring ( Actually spring was bigger than the old spring ) or is it something else.

I think you have used too much spring, Inder. Try removing one coil at a time and testing it.

    National have an underlever model?

    Hi rustam,
I am not talking about underlever rifle. Its a breakBarrel i meant to say the iron part below barrel which cock rifle is bent.

And i too think that spring is too long.i will remove some coils this sunday. One more thing Rustam can we order kit from Venom or maccari in India

I think you are refering to the cocking link. Should be easy to straighten out. I just hope it hasn't weakened in any way.

Remove one coil at a time and test, rather than too many at one go. Remember to grind/file the end of the main spring so that it sits flush with the rear spring guide's flange.

In theory you will need an import licence to import even a screw or o-ring from a gun manufacturer/tuner. Having said that, there have been quite a few blokes who have ordered and received spare parts, so long as it is for an airgun and not a firearm. It's a lucky dip, to be honest.

You said you have a friend coming over. He should bring the parts. They hardly weigh anything and it's perfectly okay to do so.

Remember that Venom and Maccari make parts for only a few type of models. The National is definitely not one of them. The only way they can send you the right bits is if you give them detailed descriptions and measurements. Assuming they do agree to make them for you, it will cost more than the ready to sell kits. Not worth the effort for a National.

The Eliminator that was confiscated by customs? Don't know what's happened to it. Never seen it.

You will not get a PE or any AA rifles in India easily. Most imported rifles (BSA, Webley, Gamo and Weihrauch) come in from Dubai. For some reason the AA rifles aren't normally to be seen in Dubai. The only AA rifle I know of is a S310 in Bombay.

If you wish you can speak to AA's representative in India - Mr. Raaj Khalid. khalid4@vsnl.com
