B&C kit is better value for money, like the 97 action but just not keen on the stock...get a standard stock, save the rest and add a bit more so you can get a custom stock cs500/700.

however...well done on buying a good gun nevertheless

When I got my 97, brand new, I followed Jim Maccari's advice and shot twenty heavy weight pellets through it, Barracudas in my case.

The point of the exercise is to stop the gun from dieselling and doing any damage. I have to say it worked. The gun never dieselled.

Make your own mind up, but Maccari's a man worth listening to IMO.

    Enjoy your new gun.

tried and tested method of killing any dieselling, thats the only reason why i keep a tin of bis mags in as i do tune up the occasional gun that comes into my possession.

Terry i agree ..marmite stock no middle ground

I have read a lot about the V MACH kits on hear. How many pellets should I put through my rifle before you would recommend fitting one?

If you are going to fit a kit do it as soon as possible. After fitting the gun will require a running period, although this seems to be shorter with custom internals, so may as well do it now. There's no benefit in waiting.

I would have a couple of sessions with the gun in standard form, just to let you fully appreciate the improvement that the upgrade brings.
