fill problem with mk3 daystate. HELP PLEASE!

Hi guys, i went to fill my mk3 daystate today using my stirrup pump. when filling pressure got up to 5 bar then i heared a clicking sound which sounded like it cam from the filling valve on end of gun. after this click the pressure would go no higher? any idears, is it the guns filling valve that is faulty? your help most appreciated.
    cheers

If i was you i'd try getting it filled from a bottle especially if as you say it's only got 5bar in it. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_eek.gif" alt="Eek" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> Surely it must have a leak somewhere for the pressure to get that low in the first place.

I believe a certain minimum pressure must be maintained to seat the relevant valves. This can be overcome with the high pressure burst that a bottle provides but not the slow fill that the pumps do.
I imagine you will need to fill it once with a bottle then keep the pressure up more should you wish to fill with a pump in the future.

how long did u pump for after the "click ".

i should imagine u would have to pump a good few times before the gauge starts moving

You can just cock the rifle then fill it.

thanks guys for the replies. the guns pressure i don't know as pump guage stops moving after the clicking sound at 5 bar.normally when using the pump you have to build up pressure in the pumps airline before you hit the pressure that is in the gun. either the gun is at 5 bar as one of you mentioned or for some reason the valve is closing off stopping air getting in? will try a fill from my mates bottle and if that does not work then will contact tony at daystate. thanks all who answered.
