    No airgun I own will release the sear when bounced on the floor ( they all get tested like that after any trigger work ) and if it did I'd sort it out.

    I couldn't care less what the SA80 does or doesn't do, I don't shoot one.

    It's your gun though, do as you please with it, I've had my say.

    Perhaps you have a point. I'll check my trigger out, maybe its not catching right.

    Because the SA80 is like this I thought it was the same with most rifles and thats why I didn't question my stealth doing it. Perhaps my stealth just needs sorting??

    Can we not talk about the SA** please? I'm about to have my lunch..... <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> The most awful piece of kit ever inflicted upon an honest soldier IMHO - well, perhaps apart from that horrible plastic webbing stuff - but at least that wasn't dangerous.

    Amazing innit? Only the UK government could come up with a 'rifle' that fires when tapped on the butt (ooerrr) yet fails to fire in combat conditions and pointed an the enemy!!!! <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Not just your honest opinion Bob, but any soldier who has had the opportunity of shooting a decent rifle. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> Need I say more.

    Actually the worst piece of kit issused to the British army (according to my grandad) was the Sten- 'They were built in the back yard' so he says <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->....... He saw the first casulilty of the war killed by a Sten when it jammed on a range, bloke tried to clear it by yanking on cocking lever, shot a round out of the side of the breach into the blokes thigh <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->
    Then he was nearly killed when some dumbass left one loaded against a pill box, when he went to pick it up, the cocking lever dragged on his overcoat, sprung back and let a 9mm round straight out grazing his forehead...makes you wonder.

    A mate of mine ( who is a lot older than me before anyone starts <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> ) carried a Sten during the Korean War. He can laugh about it now, but it wasn't funny at the time <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    " How do you fire a Sten ? "
    " Easy, just load it and it'll go off by itself "

    I could live with the fact that its a crap rifle but what gets my goat is that when it misfires the government blame me for not cleaning it properly <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_mad.gif" alt="Mad" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->
    I have picked up a spanking clean, newly oiled one and within 5 rounds the thing has jammed. Its also heavier than the slr that it replaced.
    To admit this though would cost a hell of a lot of money, the government have spent hundreds of millions developing this rifle and don't want to write it off.

    I also know some lads who swear by it though, they think its fantastic. Probably because they don't know any better and haven't fired anything else. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Icarus - you'd love a Logun S-16 then, plenty of jams, misfeeds and needs a forward assist every round.........and its heavy.

    I'd been meaning to ask why everyone is selling theirs. I've never picked one up and don't really like the look of it but there are hundreds for sale second hand. I thought they'd sorted the glitches out?

    At least you have the consolation that if it does blow up you probably won't know anything about it cos they'll be scraping you off the ceiling <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->
