    out of clicks

my brother has run out of clicks after zeroing his 10-50x60 nikko
in the scope instructions it say's to insert strips of old camera film to
raise the back of the scope.
    is this a good idea?
or ware can he get mounts that are already raised?

Depends on the gun as a non PCP that you could use a 1 piece mount would allow the use of a mount that can be adjustable.
Using film neg or copper schim (I take it, it is shooting low) in the rear mount is fine.

The camera film solution is to use the plastic case that Negative films come in to make a shim. (Is has the approximate curve already).

You can also get a "Droop Compensating" scope mount that will do this for you. http://www.jsramsbottom.com/cgi-bin/...portsmatch.HTM

Are the clicks up and down or sideways? If up/down I put the film in between the bottom of the mount and the rail. For side to side if the barrel has a figure of eight retainer at the front try slackening it off and repositioning it.
    Alternatively adjustable mounts are available.

Plus, if it's firing high shim the rear mount if firing low shim the front mount.

    depends

if your out of clicks you are on the extremes of your scope. it may be best to get a set of one peice windage and elevation adjustable mounts, you will find some in the jsr advert, or theres b square mounts i got mine from wessons in brighton you get the option of 1 or two peice, 2 peice suited my scope better and not too fiddley to set up. you can then centre your turrets and get close with your mounts and fine tune with turret adjustment. job done and probably a better sight picture.

he's got the scope on a weihrauch hw100t so those 2 piece adj mounts sound like the best option.
its a £400 scope so i dont want to risk wreckin them by schimming.
    cheers lads.

    b square then

or you can use the body filler method...

remember to optically centre the scope before setting up the mounts

    Think again. T'other way round!
Only heard bad things about the B-square adjustables - always loosing zero. The HW100 will take a one piece droop compensated mount.

No you use the negative film, the case is way to thick, and due to the flat mounts and the angle you would induce you could damage your scope..
