    is this a good idea?
or ware can he get mounts that are already raised?

    shimmin scope

I have said scope mounted on s400 classic using forward reach double strap BKLs. these are fantastic at keeping zero although i did need to shim. I used 2 pieces if film about 10mm square and not so wide it lays up the sides of the mount.
IMHO film case would be much too thick and would probably knacker the mounts and scope tube!!
The shimming you require to give you the clicks back is minimal 2 to 3 peices. It does work honest

They're not that good.....or they seem to be with some scope/gun combinations. Assuming you can get the screws in the caps, then get them to keep a zero, theyll be fine.

Mine are on their way back to Deben.

Manufacturers recommendation (Ive heard) for the HW 100 is single piece mounts if you can.

Theres no easy solution mate and Im still struggling with exactly the same problem, same gun, similar (large objective lens) scope.

    Good luck with it

Only heard bad things about the B-square adjustables - always loosing zero. The HW100 will take a one piece droop compensated mount.
    Darren,

Yes, I dropped my gun with B-Square's and the whole scope was canted over... and I'd locited it... There great for setting up but I just can't rely on them not moving....
Can you get a one piece 30mm ... I looked but couldn't find one that would suit a 60mm scope like the big nikko.... Biggest seemed to be for 50mm only ?

Funny but I had to do the same with my big 60 last night when I managed to extend my garden range to 50 yards.

I used the plastic container that last nights stawberries came in, just one strip on the rear mount

    And they were yummy!!
