thanks for permission letters - i'm just getting back into the sport and its much better way to do it than when i did it years ago - cold calling landowners which you knew would probably be taken wrong way...

awaiting responses from golf club, a big estate and farms (will write to stables as well after seeing post where someone had done same - horse owners loose lots of grass to rabbits)

I just got my 2nd permission( 1st one close to me) by a letter, 8.5 acres of paddocks.

not huge but then shes does says its over run and i have sole shooting rights.

Funnily enough she said she had loads of letters but really liked mine and wanted me.

Letters do work, but contacts through friends works better....

A lad from another forum I met had a pretty good idea - he registered on a business card website and designed himself a business card. As with most websites selling business cards, they send you a free sample pack of 250 cards if you cover the postage costs.

I personally thought it was a good idea and looked quite professional when accompanied by a letter and copy of insurance details.

I'm yet to apply for any permissions, but when the time comes I think I'll try the business cards.

    which is better

i always thought about sending letters out to landowners mainly to avoid nasty guard dogs or the even worse nasty farmers rejections but when iv asked a few lads who are into shooting or hunting of some discription theyv always preferred the face to face approach which apparently farmers respect more. think ill still give your letter a try first .

    thanks alot
