barrel shroud

Hi, am going to buy a fx cyclone from the states and the retailer wants to know if I want a full barrel shroud fitted.
Whats a barrel shroud do???
Is it a type of silencer?

Yup a barrel shroud is a type of silencer. Personally, I couldn't imagine using a PCP without a silencer (except for my 0.22 spitfire, its a quiet rifle) so I'd probably go for the barrel shroud option if I were you. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

It is a form of silencer, however I believe that the gun comes with a 1/2-20 thread on the end of the barrel, so you could fit any silencer you want on it for a lot less than the $150USD you'll be charged for the shroud. The shroud does add 4" to 5" to the overall length. RB
