    stealth problems

    Hi guys, I could do with some help. My brother in law has had his Stealth for about 5/6 weeks and has had it filled twice and on both occasions when he has come to use it's shooting on average 2-3 inches higher and he has to reset his zero again. As far as he is aware it's not being overfilled and the scopes not getting knocked as it's in a hard case. What do you guys think could be causing this.
    Thanks

    First thing to do mate is to determine whether it is shooting consistently - charge it to a set pressure and shoot 50 shots...

    Other simple fixes: *moderately* tighten the two smallish allen bolts accessible between the lower rail on the underside - one is accessible just in front of the forend (not the very end one), fort the other you will have to remove the forend.

    Thanks guys, we've shot around 30 pellets through it and they have made a rather nice group about 2-3 inches high. He's just adjusted the scope and they are consistent shots at the new zero ( around another 30 shots ), making a clover leaf at around 30 yards. Its really weird because when he's adjusted the scope it never goes of zero for around 300 shots, its only when he gets it back from being charged that its shooting around 2-3 inches higher. We're a bit stumped really, not being very technically minded does't help.

    Le Git <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_razz.gif" alt="Razz" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    OK Nige , now it's shooting nice, chrono it to determine the velocity.

    When it next appears to start shooting lower, chrono it again - if the velocity has dropped, you have your problem - the gun is just running low on air - recharge it sooner ! <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    If you want to be 100% technical, charge it to full pressure, and shoot a full 300 shots over the chrono, logging the results.

    This will tell you the optimum fill pressure, and the number of shots you get. Any more than about a 30 fps spread you will start to notice verticle movement in your groupings...

    NB With this information, there quite a few things you can do to "adjust" the power curve to suit your requirements - my assistant "Le Git" can prolly handle this aspect - it's pretty straightforwards.... <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    re stealth problems

    I have a MK1 stealth. Use it very rarely but noticed recently that the bottle wobbles when fitted to the gun, no matter how much I tighten it it. Anyone have this problem and if so how did you fix it?

    Check that the bottle mounting collar is secure. If not, re-tighten after applying loctite to the grub screw thread.

    re grub screw

    Thanks for the help AirArms.I presume you need to remove the grip to get at the bottle collar grub screw. Correct?

    That's right, also you may need to slacken the trigger/safety plate to get at the screw.
    Have a look at Le Git's Stealth site for more info;
