    HW30?

    I notice on the American forums that people are always raving about the Beeman R7 which is essentially the HW30 with a slightly different stock. Yet over here nobody seems to even mention them, let alone rave about them! Any reason why?

    it's a great little 'target' springer with excellent accuracy, but has little use in most hunting situations. They are popular 'basement/backyard' guns. I even worked up a couple tunes for them that make them as close to recoilless as recoiling springer can get. After tuning, velocity runs 620-640 fps with 7.9 Premiers ( depending on individual gun). Women like them because the cocking effort is only 18 lbs. RB

    I generally find that the higher the cocking effort, the more women like it <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    I bought an HW30s ( R7) last October, brand new with Hull stamp, ordered from my local gun shop.
    30s differs from 30, foresight is multi-element (like 80), stock is exact shape of 99s, tad smaller, best of all, trigger is Record unit with a regular HW safety.
    This gun is almost identical to my 99s but 85% in size
    I got this gun to wean my 3 lads on. After about 3000 pellets I have to say it is utterly fantastic. With a uniform hold it can shoot very tight groups. Nice low recoil, quiet report. This gun is used more than any other in our 35 yard garden.
    I will NEVER sell this gun.
    I think Johnny Sweden on this forum has one.

    HW30

    Bought a MKII 39 years ago. Still shoots okay but when my 410 arrives I'm going to give it its 4th rebuild. I can't tell you how many Starlings and gray squirrels fell to it, and always with iron sights. Nice little rifle!!!

    Mine is a HW30S in 22 with a JM Beeman R7 tuningkit.

    I shoots RWS Hobby at 545 fps for 7,80 ft/lbs.

    Very fun to shoot and quite accurate.

    Good value for money over here.
