farcical airgun laws

Went to the post office this morning to collect a parcel containing two boxes of dynamic airgun pellets. Was made to open the parcel in front of a customs official (as one does...) and upon seeing them marked 'air bullets' the good lady disappeared and returned 5 minutes later with a list of documents, stamps and permissions (police included) I needed to retrieve the parcel I tried to argue that airgun ammunition was an over-the-counter item, which I wanted for air weapons that i legally own, but it was no use. I left in frustration.

So decided on some 'retail therapy', visited Quantum's Airgun Emporium where I found the Anics Skif that i liked, emptied a few magazines (cheers Eric ) and duly paid for it. But all I could take home was an application form for a license to buy the gun. A CO2 pistol lucky to manage 4 ft/lbs. The license will take at least a week to clear, despite the fact that I already own 3 registered weapons.

So next time you think British Airgun law is a pain in the behind, remember it could get worse
