It has a butchers link pin (bolt) that has gauged the stock, incorrect fastening machine screws, lacking the trigger adjuster and scope mount machine screws, loose front and rear sights. Also someone has sanded the light surface rust but not too nasty-like.

Disregarding that, I still have the biggest smileJJJ

Does anyone have the correct procedure to strip this rifle?
The last thing I want to do is screw it up.

I love the BSF brand, I own the following, BSFS20 Standard Pistol in .177, BSF S54 underlever .177, BSF S55 .177 and my BSF S 70 .22 with period Bushnel Scopecheif . Top quality rifles, pity there no longer made.

They are a pretty straight forward rifle to strip but I do recommend the use of a spring compressor.
Also the scope rail must be removed (one screw) for the end plug to be released.

    Question

    Thanks Ian.
Is the mainspring retained by the round screw block located front of the trigger unit?
Am I able to safely remove the end cap without a big boing!
Using some logic(?); I am looking at it and it appears that I should be following this sequence:
Remove end cap.Is there any load on this cap?
Slide back the scope mount, carefully lift and remove.
    Remove trigger unit.
Compress the mainspring, then unscrew the round block/retainer(?).
