A BSA bolt-action Model 2 single shot sporting rifle made as a takedown rifle in a travelling case by Alexander Martin of Glasgow, Scotland. It is complete with its ultra-rare BSA tang sight, all its accessories, including a tin of 'BoreBright' cleaning paste, and was made for a young man sometime in 1912. He having died in WW1, it passed to his younger brother, who passed it on to HIS son, from whom I obtained it in 1992.

As far as BSA records go, it is unique.

Give me your email address and I'll send you a bunch of pics. Or come to Barnwell and see it in the wood and steel.

What a nice piece to own. Eddie did like his BSFs and HWs.

Worked upon's dont count - otherwise my S300 after crushing in a vice would certainly be unique and incredibly rare!

Must be stock rare, and not from a producer of hand made one-offs - that would be cheating...

Theoben Dual Magnum, apparently 81 made according to Theoben. Look it up!

I shoot at Barnwell most Sundays between 9:30 and 1:00 pm. Going to an Arms Fair implies that one has money to spend on gun stuff. Being too poor even to be able to afford to be called poverty-stricken, and prevented from having any more guns by local restrictive practices, means that I won't be at Kempton [is that even in England somewhere?]

Said nothing about lunch, me. Just guns. BTW, I just sent you a bunch of pics of the little BSA rifle. I hope that it won't cause too much upset if you post any of them here, since it's a cartridge-shooting firearm and not an air rifle. I have six more interesting older .22 rifles, as well. If you look up the history of the BSA target rifles you'll see that it figures at the bottom of the page on the Model 1. It is, in fact, a model 2, with a heavier-profile barrel and spiffier chequering.
