    What is it you enjoy most,stalking,baiting up and ambushing ect.I allways enjoyed getting a bit of cover and just waiting meself,ok i may not of had some massive bags,but then i enjoyed just being out doors amoungst the trees n stuff more than anything really. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    To be honest i just enjoy the wandering around having a mooch about and taking the shots when they come. If im in a hide i last about 5 minutes and im bored!

    Lamping and stalking mainly but enjoy ambushing when there's plenty about.

    Moochin around is my preferred unless it for rats ten its baiting. If you walk round slow enough you will be suprised at what you see in the countryside

    Hide shooting can be boring,but amazing sights to be viewed:deer at 10m etc...
    I guess the best hunting comes out of good observation.That is to say:making a point of going to a particular place at a particular(time of day and season/year)based on previous observation (i.e.knowing that there will be quarry about)not based on an assumptiuon (i.e.this is a field so there must be rabbits in it.)and knowing that your quarry will be there.
    I'm afraid it tickles me when some people swear blind that the only time of year to shoot squirrels is when the trees have no leaves!!
    The up side of good observation is fewer hunting trips with zero in the bag and if anything your bag should increase!if you're keen you learn a little more every time you go out and I enjoy that.

    Fully camo'd up face paint the lot, creeping about in felt soled shoes (no noise). Three weeks ago I got within 30 yards of three grazing Roe deer and a 20 yards of a Vixen and cubs. If you observe all the right codes, wind direction, slow movement, no noise, no silhouette, etc, you can get very close to your prey and choose which one of the bunch to take out.

    I'll sit undercover and wait I really enjoy the peace and quiet away from my old woman’s constant nagging, sometimes I'll even take my gun <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    I'm sure that I'm suffering from partial deafness indoors, but out in the fields my hearing miraculously returns; especially when sat in my favourite position under a tree cammoed (sp) up. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Well I had a great summer, shooting about 5 evenings a week from 7pm till 10pm. Went lamping again last Monday first time since April. Wasnt looking forward to it as it seemed like hassle compared to the ease of wandering through woods with plenty of quarry options in the sun.
    BUT its the best, there is nothing like being alone in the dark with all those spooky noises. 3 rabbits in the first 10 minutes helped re convert me too. Would have gone tonite but said 3 rabbits are in the oven as I type. I will need to top up by Tuesdsay though.

    Until this morning I'd have said ambush shooting. I do lamping as well but not keen on it, just got no choice.

    This morning however I found myself stalking a bunny, just on opportunity, and after watching the latest (and last <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_frown.gif" alt="Frown" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->) James Douglas video I put his tips on stalking into practice.

    Crawling along on my belly, with just clumps of grass and folds in the ground between me and bunny, I got to within 20m (my zero range) of a bunny on four occassions. Missed one completely but other three went down with clean brain shots. Not so long ago I wouldn't have believed it was possible to get that close to an alert rabbit in daylight, but the thrill of achieving it has got me hooked.

    At the end however I was utterly knackered and I'm still aching as I type this. Hard work. One crawl took 45mins! And that was the one where I missed the bunny!!! <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_redface.gif" alt="Red Face" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    My favorite is sitting in a hide and ambushing pigeons/magpies.

    Sniping them off at 30-60 yards using TX200 (FAC .177) in a clear summer evening.
