I'm not sure if this has been asked before...
What, in your opinions, would be the best and cheapest (probably) break barrel air rifle to buy?
It would be for hunting in conditions I do not want to take my PCP out in.
The emphasis is equally on best and cheap...I do not want to spend more than £100 (if possible) on a combo, since will be used in rough conditions (weather and/or ground).
*** Warning the Graham brothers in the Cheltenham area scamming ***
The Graham brothers are sill actively scamming people. Do not send money or your gun to anyone in the Cheltenham area of Gloucestershire. Only deal with anyone in this area face to face.
Never send payment via paypal to anyone living in this area. He may claim the gun must have got lost in the post and tell you to claim back from paypal.
When paypal find out it was a gun, you won't be getting anything back.
Secondhand supersport combo with a bum basic scope should just appear at that price. Will last a lifetime with minimal maintainance.
Cometa or Gamo. Quality guns and cheapish.

The only fifle i know that is as cheap as that (second hand) in a combo, breakbarrel and not a bad gun is the Gamo 440 (hunter).
Tomahawk Sidewinder .22 (British)
Probably the Gamo Shadow 1000 (same rifle appears in a few adverts with BSA name on it instead) with synthetic stock.
Avoid the dearer Shadowmatic, although its external linear loading mechanism is good it is intended for flat-nosed pellets.
If you prefer a wooden stock the Gamo 440 has the same mechanism.
The 440 or Shadow is very nice with a UK-sourced gasram if you wanted to modify it at some later time; there are also spring/guide/trigger mods available from the USA at reasonable prices.
What they said:
BSA Supersport or Gamo.
But you never know what you might find in the s/h section......
I have seen a TX200 with basic scope in cosmetically so-so condition, but functionally satisfactory, go for £130.
take out the pcp thats what its there for
Cometa 300 carbine complete with silencer.I managed to pick one up for £80 brand new.Great 1st break barrel and full power
The Gamo's are good value but they have a noisy action.
You'd have to specify new or secondhand. Can make a world of difference to buying power.
A new Mondeo, or a 2nd hand Mercedes. With a scope.

It's not "ect", you bellends! It's "etc"!
I wouldnt go for a Gamo. If you want a quality but descent priced springer you better buy any used German or UK popular brand springer. The cheapest are the Dianas (i.e. Diana24) and they still have quality. Also check the Diana Panther21. It is sold at BAR, brand new, for 89.95 (I prefer the m24 though in terms of quality). Anyway, my advice is stay away from Chinese or Gamos.

Any other opinions, before I go with one of the above?
