    Logun MkII

    Hi,

    not posted here for a while but just got back into reading the board and thought I'd ask a question.

    Why does the Logun Mk II never get a mention on here? Do people use them at all? Or is it just that they don't have any problems with them?

    OK, so that was three questions. I just wondered as I have a nice assortment of rifles including the Logun. Now if I need advice regarding my rapid, S410, TX200 or even my Axsor Gemini I can find some reference to my query on the BBS but I can find practically nothing about the Logun Mk II.

    Any ideas, theories, comments or whatever appreciated.

    Thanks,
    /Phil.

    Well, I can see a certain irony in the lack of responses <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Surely someone has an opinion on this rifle!??

    I really like the look of them especially the carbine. However the problems (be they real or just perceived) with pellet lock ups and the pallarva if you want to change which type of pellets you shoot, have always made me shy away.

    They are well made but In my opinion there are better rifles available for that kind of money. Not better in the sense of how they are made as the Logun is a fine rifle, but simply better to own, and much easier to sell on afterwards.

    Just my opinion you understand.

    Karlos, I know what you mean about the pellet lock-ups. I use accupell because they're the ones my gun's set up for. All my other guns use AA Field. Out of curiosity I tried one in the Logun and it wouldn't load. Luckily it came out when I shook the gun, butt down. Not sure if it was the shaking or my copious amount of swearing but it came out. Since then I've used accupell and had no problems.

    I agree with your comment about there being better rifles for the money. I still think that you can't beat the S410 for the sort of opportunist hunting that I tend to do. Of course the build quality is superb but that don't put bunnies in the pot!

    Thanks for your views. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    I was in Guns International the other week. A bloke bought one of these for £795. He was looking at a Walther scope at about £50 to put on it. Numpty!
    He asked my advice and I got him to buy a Pro Stalk 5-20x50.
    Too much money for the Logun IMO!!!!

    Hi PHILR,
    One of the reason's in my opinion
    why you don't here much about them on here
    is that a lot of people slag them off
    as being
    1- too exspensive
    2- nothing but trouble(jamming,leake's,etc,etc) and a lot of it is by word of mouth,
    some of these people have not even shot one
    let alone own one!.
    As for the jamming if you read the manual that you get with the Logun in it ,it tell's you that the rifle is only set up for accupells ,do not attempt to use flat head's or pointed pelletts
    as this will cause it to jamm.
    I have a LOGUN MKII Karbine and it is a briiliant rifle,no trouble what so ever.
    Never jammed,never leaked and very quiet to boot,
    also luv's bunnies <!--graemlin:-->

    I've a Mk 2 Carbine in .22 with,
    (Nikko 10 x 42 sniper).

    It's fantastic.

    Use it as single shot or full magazine.

    No probs~~~ever.
    Shoots great,VERY quiet & looks <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    The wife uses one. It has a nice Paul Wilson stock and is perfect for her.

    Very accurate - no jams and she can load a full mag of pellets on the plinking range or just a couple per lane if we are shooting around the course.

    Too expensive new but I got it second hand <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    only one problem i have found with the loguns, the bolt flicks back unexpected with the slightest knock, especially when on a sling...

    other than that, they a re just brilliant!

    top gun the mk11 and no batteries in sight.

    o no dodgy wood either. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    and still the same model. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    and much better back up service.
    <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->
    and ? easier to spell <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Oh, so people do use them <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    I'd agree with all of the comments expressed here. Mine's a karbine and seems well put together and very nice to use. On the price front, I got a thumbhole stocked karbine in .22 at the Bisley show earlier this year for 795 quid but would have thought harder if it was full price.

    Thanks for all your feedback. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    The logan MK11 is over priced and overrated and unrealiable so is the S16 there are far better rifles for that kind of money. example daystate MK111. HW100.FX2000.even theobens are more reliable <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    i sure wouldn't buy a gun with an electronic trigger <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    i'd say a theoben is THE most reliable PCP money can buy. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Time will tell on the reliability question but so far the only gun to let me down has been the rapid. If it didn't leak though it'd be my number 1 gun <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->. As it is I'm torn between the Logun and the S410.
