    Back into shooting/Shooting

I am trying to narrow my options down, before taking the plunge of purchasing an air rifle.I used to dabble, several years ago with an air arms TM100 pre charged 2.2.I am thinking of a good alround F.T and hunting rifle pre charged of a similar quality to my old air arms.Any advise?
    Many Thanks

What kind of budget are we talking??

If you want something that is cheap and excellent a .177 Air Arms S200 would do the trick. If you have a bit more to spend, what about a an AA S400, or even an S410? BSA S10's are good too, and they are regulated, while still being reasonably priced.

thanks for that! what about regulated or not,Am I correct in saying the s200 is'nt,but the 400s are. What are the pro's and cons?.

    Clive,

I bought an S200 a couple of months ago and I am very pleased with it.

My only real criticism is that access to the loading port is a bit restricted with a scope mounted so anything which requires a quick follow up shot is "challenging".

Apart from that, a class act at a very reasonable price

No mate neither the 200s or 400s are regulated.
Regulators give you a measured volume of air each shot regardless of the air pressure in the cylinder. Well to a degree anyway. They give you more shots per volume of air stored than an un-regulated rifle, and are believed to be more consistant, in that the same amount of air is released each shot.Less chasing the zero up and down as the cylider empties

Cons, well thay can go wrong. They; If fitted inside the cylinder, take up room, so you can end up with no more shots per charge from a modified rifle where a regulator has been retro fitted.

    Hope this helps a bit.
