its the scope that does the damage in ft.

many of the modern pcps will do ft . as long as you can set in on your knee in the sitting position and feel comfortable.

the scope is more important , IMHO you need at last 32 mag with range finding capabilities. side wheel scopes make it easier.

depends if you want to compete or just do it for fun really.

Best FT rifle for under 800 quid is in the for sale section right now.

MattF is selling my old mates Ripley AR5 for a very reasonable 670 quid.

Very nice rifle when I last used it, and has been serviced since. Rare chance to get a 1200 quid rifle for almost half price.

Other than that the S400 as modified by Nick Jenkinson is a great little rifle if you want new,and that would leave plenty towards a good scope as our friend here states, the scope is all important. At that price range your best bet is a second hand FT rig such as a Ripley, CRX, Pro Target etc.

Any gun that has a regulater. Give you more consistant shos. As said a scope 32x or above to range find. Deban does the Hawke 8x32x44 You can get them for around £80.You might try the springr class
TX200 seems the most popular

I had a heft of a Steyr LG100 on Sunday.

Nice balance. Not so heavy as some of the latest hi-tech guns.

THE LG100 FT , not for lamping...

Nice Sniping Rig TAZ - But don't get rid of it
if you are still a Huntsman , I intended to use
a STEYR LG100 for hunting ,yes I've got 50yarder
rabbits, but that cold metal reeks havoc on your
fingers and you get scared taking it out if it
get scratched.

So I think I might get a Gunpower Stealth for hunting, because of the .22 Bisley Magnums kill power. Truely an awesome pellet.

Anything you are confident of hitting the target with - be that £2000 worth of dedicated FT rig or a £200 Springer.

Confidence in your kit counts for a lot.

I have a few ideas I am going to mate parts with a Steyr LG100 & get something aworesome, for now thou, you can have this see if it helps?

I would surgest getting hold of Will G he does neaopreme stuff all the time, he even does custom stuff, I asked for him to do leg supports incopretated into a Drybott & it was the business. so ask he to make you a shroud-sock to go over the action like a sock shaped to the guns profile?

Hope it helps?

There's a very accurate HW97 in .177 in the For Sale section, you could buy that and tackle Hunter FT to start with before moving onto the regular FT. You might even enjoy it more ...
