    David W Baines

It is with great sadness that I have to report the sudden death of David Baines.

David died this afternoon of a heart attack. I am sure everyone will join me in sending our deepest sympathy to his family.

I will give more details as they become available.

Dave was one of the giants of the sport. Active with Redfearns, NEFTA, BFTA and UKAHFT. He was also a good friend. Dave will be sorely missed by his family and the sport is vastly poorer today. Nobody I knew worked harder for our sport.

Please do not ring his wife Pauline as her family are not with her yet. My deepest sympathies are with her at this moment.

Redfearns Turkey shoot will still go on on the Saturday - Dave would not have wanted or expected anything less.

This is one bloke that myself and Jane and plenty of other people will sadly miss, not only in the shooting world but he is someone that me and Jane classed as a good friend.

I never knew him nor met him to talk to, but there's no doubt he was a big 'face' in shooting.

    How very sad.

I couldn't believe it when I heard, it still hasn't sunk in yet. To say I'm shocked and stunned is the understatement of the century.

    RIP Dave

I'm shocked and saddened. I met Mr Baines a few times at Redferms, he was kind and friendly man.
