    daystate harrier x "advice req'd"

Hi all and thanks to all who responded to my "mixy",query.

When I take delivery of my brand new harrier x in the next few days what pellet do you owners of the above rifle use for hunting and is there such a thing as best for "gun", pellets as I would like to get it right from day one.
Also I will need a pump for the above rifle and plan on a Hill's pump are they the best or one of the other stirup pumps?tahnks in advance Redox/Alan.

Hi Alan & welcome to the BBS m8. Nice rifle also. Regarding pellets, you really need to be trying alot of the different manufacturers brands as no 2 rifles are the same. A trail sample pack is available from Pellpax which has around 38 different brands of pellet and 10 of each pellets. Look here at their website Pellpax.
As for the pump they are all very similar really. But it's not an easy job, you'll probably end up buying a bottle after a few fills unless your a keep fit fanatic.
    HTH,
    Dave.

As a Harrier X owner myself I strongly advise you read the part of the owners manual headed "Pellet Recommendations" (also available for download from the Daystate web site if you can't wait for it to arrive!).

The early X I bought didn't have this useful section in the manual and I had problems with pellets falling out of the magazine, into the breach block and jamming the bolt. Apparently "short" pellets like Accupell can cause this. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_frown.gif" alt="Frown" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

Unsuprisingly, Daystate recommend their own branded pellets. I suggest you give those a try as a first off, and let us know how you get on.
