    Snuffing Out Rabbits From There Burrows.

    The obvious answer for 1st class results is to use a ferret! However I would like to achieve the same results but without the looking after aspect of our furry friend. Any idea`s along the lines of smoking them out or W.H.Y.
    Let me know your thought`s. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_confused.gif" alt="Confused" width="15" height="22"><!--graemlin:-->

    Soaking some sawdust in either diesel or creosote and putting it down a burrow will have the Rabbits camping out for a few days and thus easy to shoot. Be sure to leave a couple of entrances free of smell for them to evacuate.

    I've never tried it but i wonder if you were to use smoke matches or smoke pellets(used for testing chimney stacks and flues) down the holes you dont want them to come out of and cover them to stop the smoke leaking out, (just a thought)

    cheers

    Put a candle on a tortoise's back and send it down the burrow - that bolts the rabbits. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    a quart of gasoline or bottle of propane

    and a suitable ignition source, should be a small WHUMP! and then everything should come out nicely browned and ready for the plate. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_eek.gif" alt="Eek" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Speaking of ferrets..

    I was woken this morning by shotgun blasts from the hill behind my house.. Looked out of the window and saw 3 people ferreting, 1 man handling the ferret and 2 with shotguns. Was quite interesting to watch,.. seeing two guys taking 4 shots at an evading rabbit! Poor ****** thing must have had a couple of ounces of shot in it before it stopped running..what a nightmare to prepare and cook..(presuming they were going to).
