    Silo,
The CFX Royal with the wooden stock does not have the rubber inserts, but I think you simply pry them out carefully with a very small screwdriver.
Drop a mail to Rich from Mich http://home.comcast.net/~peterdragin...ml/default.htm
He will be able to tell you precisely, as he works on your version all the time.

    Thanks Derek,
I contacted him today, I might just send him the whole rifle and let him
    do his magic with it.
I'll just have to get it past the boss ...... which might take a wine and dine
    on Friday night

Slight thread drift I have a 20 year old Gamo cadet owned from new, a bit down on power maybe (memory could be fooling me!) but it's all still ok despite not having had a moments tender loving care!

I don't doubt your Gamo is still OK. Maybe they would be more popular in the UK if they cost more! Just look at the £80+ jeans on the market. Jeans = workclothes (originally).

Well I sent my CFX off to Rich on Monday, he's working his magic
on it as we speak, I should have it back before next weekend.
I'll put up a "Pre and Post tune" review when I get it back.
Thanks for giving me his name Derek, he seems to really know his stuff.
I can't wait to feel the CFX after everything he plans to do to it for me.

Not only does Rich know his stuff, but he's also an extremely pleasant guy to deal with. While emailing him questions about his trigger insert, he said "send me a stamped envelope and you can have one to try". Also, when querying the whereabouts of my tuning kit (late due to Christmas mail as it turned out), he immediately offered to re-send the package, without question of payment, claim forms, or anything. A 110% good guy to deal with.

Both he and Charlie da Tuna (Bob Werner) seem to have equal amounts of positive customer feedback on the US Forums, apart from the Yellow, where Charlie's name is banned due to internal politics with Forum owners.
