    I've never been a fan of the air cartridge system. It always seemed too fiddley. I'm not saying that I'm right, just that I know what I like. The reason that I've posted, is not a mindless rant, but a comment on the financial aspects of the ban. For a while I have harboured a secret desire for the Lee Enfield Brocock conversion..not to shoot, but to have. One has appeared today on the for sale section, and before this licensing scheme came into existance I would have bitten his arm off to get it. Now I look at it and think...I can never trade it, Sec 1 cert, and no resale value.........bummer. I think that there will be diehards and those who sell, but in the end everyone will lose out. I wonder how many will be registered, and for the poeple who don't, do you really want an illegal section one firearm (with all the consequences) that just about does the legal limit?. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_frown.gif" alt="Frown" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Robin, I believe rifles will be unaffected. For clarity ring Brocock on 0121 273 1200.

    BTW ask if the conversion is the Harper barrel liner (brass) or steel (which is actually an Aschutz .223 liner). Steel is by far the better.

    Brococks attended a meeting with Goverment Departments, last week and was advised that the Rifle will also be effected by the New Proposals.

    Where earlier talks, had mention that it might not be included within the proposed Bill.

    But I have not seen a mention of the Bill in todays speaches.

    I have spoken to Brococks , they are still trying to confirmed that the Bill did not make it to this coming Session of parliment.

    In which case nothing will be happening this year or early Next Year.

    More News, as soon as confirmed.

    How about a 410 shotgun SMLE or No.4 Lee Enfield?
    I too was thinking of a Saxby Palmer conversion but with all the problems associated with proposed legislation, I'm considering getting a shotgun conversion.
    For a start I've seen these shotgun conversions for as little as £100, they can be held on on SGC (which I have)can be freely be bought and sold, (unlike Brococks next year) and you can buy the ammo from any gunshop( also unlike Brococks).
    So its a No.4 on SGC for me, anyone got a minter for sale??
    Carl.

    According to HMSO, the Anti-social Behaviour Bill has already received royal assent and the final version will be published shortly.
    The latest version available does include rifles.

    I often wonder IF the INTELECTUAL requirments for becoming a Politician AREN'T SORT OF 99.5 PENCE SHORT OF A POUND? Do they seriuosly think that 100% of present owners of Brocock Pistol's and or rifle's, are REALLY going to apply for a FAC OR worse still hand them in to be DESTOYED! <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Roll Eyes" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    I once read a book, by James Clavell, in wich a Chinese Mandarin said that ONLY the Emperor could use purple Ink BY LAW!. Then asked, IF the same did NOT apply to Queen Victoria. The China Tea Trader said that IF such a thing became a LAW in the UK, any and EVERY citizen would go out of his or her way, to buy purple ink and use it AND stand on street corners selling it. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    I was brought up to belive and ACT in a manner whereby Laws, Rules, Regulations etc, are there for the GUIDENCE of the wise and the obedience of B****Y minded FOOLS! If AS and OR WHEN, there is such a law, then I will take note of it BUT untill then, the old adage of a Brocock in ones possession is worth two in the bush. I'd buy and TO HELL WITH SPECULATION ON WHAT "MIGHT!" HAPPEN. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->
