    Sterling HR81

Where can I take my Sterling to be refurbished. It's starting to lose bits and bobs as time goes on and different people borrow it. Every time it goes out it comes back with another screw gone. One (friend) even had it painted black. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_confused.gif" alt="Confused" width="15" height="22"><!--graemlin:-->

Venom or ISP or SFP? It won't be cheap with re-blueing and stock work though. Try Chambers for parts.
Seems to be well into the "project gun" area. Might make an interesting project - go on DIY! There is plenty of info about refinnishing stocks and then you only have to have the re-blue done and a basic tune up.

Come to think of it I remember using one of those when they were new, what a cycle:- under leaver to cock and close the load via a bolt. It seemed fiddly at the time (I had an Original 45) but it's probalby no worse than a TX load.

Thanks Ora, I'll try the D.I.Y. aproach if I can get the bits. The bolts were funny things, sort of a bolt within a bolt, that's probably why no body bothers with them.
