300 bar rated hose

Alright chaps?

Got a new charging kit (300 bar) on its way, but apparently there's no hose with it.

I'm guessing the hose for my current 232 bar kit won't cut the mustard, so does anyone know where I can snag a 300 bar rated one from, and roughly how much it'll cost?

Any help appreciated..

Cheers mate - is there any way of telling what the rating is?

Don't fancy a big bang goin off when I charge me rifle!!

Very Wise!

Best to be cautious Geordie mate,

The working pressure should be stamped on the side of the hose. Even if you are within the rated pressures it's worth having a good look at the casing for scrapes/bulges/cuts and check all the fittings are in good condition.

If there isn't one then don't use it!!! Get yourself a new hose, it's lots cheaper than med bills and hurts less than removing bits of yourself with high pressure air/shrapnel

For everyone reading this please *DON'T* use hoses/valves etc at higher pressures than they are marked up for, you will get away with it some of the time, maybe always... but when they go it's not nice
(300 bar is of course well over FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH.) Not to be played with!!

I don't have any prices off the top of my head, depends what fittings and length of hose you need but I'll have a scout about the dive shops tomorow if you want.

Smudge

300 bar

What rifle do you charge up to 300 bar? the hose only needs to take your rifle pressure, even then they are tested to a higher pressure than the working one,at 300 bar I would worry about your rifle ,should you slip up ,Ron.

I was wondering about that mate - rifle fills to 220 bar, but my 232 bar kit struggles.

Stevecoo - any idea where bouts I'd get one from? are they standard dive kit or guns only?

Cheers,

Here is a link to my site where I have some pics of my charging equipment.
If you contact TAL ARMS (01202 473030)they would advise you about your requirements.

Geordie,
Whilst I have little experience of using hoses in a charging system, I have made an adaptor using snap connectors and threaded adaptors (admittedly for a logun S16 bottle) that does not use a hose. To my experience of aircraft hydraulics, any unnecessary volume that you have to charge with pressure is wasted effort; thus my view on this would be to anyone to visit a hydraulic hose maker to get a "special" made and tested to keep the swept volume as small as possible so that you don't waste effort from a manual pump or air from a divers bottle.
Having re-read this post its a bit vague but I think I know what I'm on about. I can understand the supply of flexible lengths by the manufacturers as they allow the obvious flexibility of movement, I just like to keep the effort that I put into the pump to go into the bottle that I'm charging up and not into building pressure in a length of hose that I'm going to have to bleed off before removing the charging equipment.

All the best in your search

Current Microbore pipes via Midland Diving are tested well over 400 Bar.
Which are now the thin Plastic ones.

Metal braided was breaking on joins.

My price £10.00 , I have all the other standard
Midland connectores etc.

Cheers for the info guys - If I'm gonna sell my 232 bar kit on I'll be needing to let it go with a hose either way, so looks like I'm buying a new one!

Are these just standard diving kit (i.e. can I buy them from my divestore) or will it be an uttings/bob/MDE job?

Thanks again for the plethora of replies,
