Darren you need to remove the probe thumb button. To do this unscrew the thumb button on the back of the probe, you will need two pairs of pliers and protect the metal. When this is off you will need to push the probe back in until it locks in place, to remove the allen stud at the back, (if you wish to remove the probe:-then with the stud removed screw the thumb button back in and keep releasing it, the weight of the spring should knock out the probe and guide.) When this is out of the way, you can then remove the end cap and the spring and hammer. You may not need to remove the probe, but you will have to remove the thumb button to remove the allen stud as this is one of the pair that holds the end cap on.
    Email me if you're stuck.
