    Advice, which field target scope

I`ve just treated myself ti a Ripley Ar5s and need a scope to go with it. I need some advice on which is a good value one. The money i will have available will depend how much i can raise selling 2 spare rifles i have,a rt-hand titan single shot(19" action with scope, silencer and bipod) and a left hand Falcon raptor(also 19" action) with 6 mags, scope, silencer, sling etc
So the scope has to equal the value of the above 2 rifles.

If its just for FT and you want new then you cant go far wrong with Nikko 10-50x60 they are about £380.Im just saving up to buy one now.If you have more money then there is the Deben 10-50x56 with IR but for that you are looking at £500.Someone else will say about the secondhand options but for new like I say you cant go wrong woth the Nikko

How accurate is the parallax wheel on the Nikko ?

    its the best ive used <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

ps others who have been shooting for longer than me have remarked that the range finding accuracy is spot on on these scopes.
the only slight beef i had was that the turrets were a wee bit stiff at first. but its not a problem really.

Don't worry how accurate the markings on the wheel are. You'll want to calibrate the scope and put your own markings on anyway.

It's more important to be happy with the way the image snaps in and out of focus, and to be able to focus close enough. Many FT scopes can't go below about 14 yards so you have to learn what to do if you get a course with some very close reducer targets. That's where mildots help a huge amount.

the nikko is ok for focusing at 10 yards.
and the rangefinding is very sharp /high resolution.

    Nikko 10-50

The Nikko can be reparallaxed to around 8 yards if you want to spend the time sorting it out.

I have 2 of them and they are real nice.

For £380 you will not find a finer FT scope (IMO)

I've got one of Dave's "cast-off" Nikkos that he reparallaxed. It's excellent all the way from 8 yards to 60 yards, snapping in to the yard at every range in all light conditions.

However, I've also got one of Dave's old BSA Platinums that is now surplus to requirements (look in the For Sale section on this very BBS) that is damn near as good! <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

Neill, one of my club members is looking for a 177 PCP and your Falcon might fit the bill. He is left handed, and it will be his first PCP.

Email me with a contact number for you and I will try to get him to ring you Sunday. My mailbox is richclark24@hotmail.com, please don't use the address in my profile.

I just got myself a Nikko Stirling 10-50-60. Great scope for the money.
