It doesn't, you have to rotate the side wheel untill you can see the finest detail. I use fibres sticking out of the reset cord. Once you can see those you can range find to less than one yard.

    One word of warning Vic.

When I had mine I brought the PA in to just about 60 yds max which was fine in the winter but buggered about in bright sunlight in the summer. If you set the max PA to around 75-80 it seemed to work a lot better on my old one.

Thanks for that Alan, I have'nt actually checked to see how far out it goes I just wound it down to what I thought was 9 yards - turns out to be 91/2!

I used to focus on the reset cords with the Nikko so I'll see how I get on. I did notice I could see a cat hair sticking to some tape on a target I set up at 30 yards in the garden

Leupold competitions can be had in quite a few places... the bay is one, but you can buy them direct from leupold, and have them customised by the custom shop with different rets etc...

My 40x Comp Series focuses to 11 yards 'as is,' and with the close-focus adaptor, down to 7 yds. It has not been re-parallaxed. Regards ... Geek
