    hornet stock refurbish

    hi guys is it possible to strip the varnish off the stock on my hornet and oil it as it has a really nice grain for beech also do,s anyone know the address of a stockmaking company around sheffield as i am told one exists

    Strip off varnish with Nitomors varnish remover. Rinse and wipe down with white spirts.
    Then fine grade wire woll the stock taking care with the chequering. I used a brass brush on mine to remove the softened varnish from it.
    Then apply several coats of Rustins danish oil following instructions on tin.
    I found the beech colour too light so stained with Coloron American walnut dye before oiling.
