    Nightvision Scopes?

    I'm asking around about Nightvision scopes, so apologies if you've seen this on the other forums.

    My birthday has come and gone, and I'm clutching about £300 in my hot sweaty hands.
    This brings a few of the lower end nightscopes into grasp. Anyone used any in this price range, opinions please?

    Thanks.

    I've visited so far:

    http://www.sovietbazaar.co.uk/index.php?d=nvsight

    Any help appreciated.

    The guys to talk to is either Sid he builds them or Gary C he buys them <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->, if you do a search on NV you will prob find all your needs.

    £300 buys a 2nd hand NS156 + the weaver / dovetail rail.

    Best buy IMHO

    cheers

    Gary

    ps D141 is a decent sight as well. Both sell under £300 2nd hand

    I'll echo Gary_C' comments, £375 will pick you up an NS156 (new) but you'll need to fork out for a Weaver to dovetail adapter (and get the right one!).
    I bought an NS156 about a year ago based on Sid's input, have not been disapointed. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    Yeup.

    Looks a bit like this:

    Changes the rifle mounting from 11mm dovetail, to "weaver" which is typical mounting system for (most) NV. There are a few exceptions.

    Nightvision

    Thanks for the replies so far.

    I was looking at Night Vision Sight PNS 4.6x52 PRO, however as not one person has mentioned it anywhere....

    Anyone a good idea how much a second hand D141 with illuminator should be?

    Haven't seen anything on yet that temps me, there is these two:

    Night Vision Sight Falcon02 Weaver
    Night Vision Rifle Scope 2.7x50 Elk *NEW* which is also a falcon.

    Think I'll keep looking for the 141 or NS156 that are recommended.

    Does anyone here have any experience or views on the PNS 4.6x52 pro <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_confused.gif" alt="Confused" width="15" height="22"><!--graemlin:-->

    Seems abit "good" for its price <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_confused.gif" alt="Confused" width="15" height="22"><!--graemlin:-->

    The Soviet Bazaar "Multi Task Package" looks pretty good too <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_confused.gif" alt="Confused" width="15" height="22"><!--graemlin:-->

    Image on the PNS is no where near the quality of the 141 or NS156. Only mentioned the Weaver/dovetail issue as I was sent ones that I have yet to find a rifle to fit (and I have some real oddballs). The one pictured earlier will fit 99% of air (and rimfire) rifles.

    This looks like a B Square adapter. Be careful, I've had a couple of NVD's where the top of the rail has to be milled off by about 1.5mm to make it fit. Another potential problem is that you might find that straight adapters like this result in far too much eye relief for many NVD's.

    I have been through this exercise recently. I had to pay £320 for a Gen1 D-141 and then found that it had an aberation in the tube, so be sure to look through anything that you get offered before you purchase it. Having said that, the gen1 D-141 used on a rat shoot,impressed me and a friend who uses a Gen2 NVS. I wasn't too bothered by the fault with mine because Sid has upgraded it to GenII for me. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->
