    FAC MFR in AirGunner

OK...ok - this question may be a bit behind the times but I am in the states and I only got the January Air-Gunner delivered today.

Anyway - it featured a rather nice looking MFR in .22 that claims FAC capabilities and **80** shots at a tad below 30 ftlbs.

Was this a miss-print since the full size bottle on my gun gives about that number of shots (concistant ones) at the same power level has some new magic been worked on the MFR.

    Any comments gratefully received.

    Nice gun Theoben - looks SHARP <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

    MFR shots

as far as i am aware Ben Taylor who used to own Theoben has done the development for it he also developed the ideas on the MFR itself so he told me when i spoke to him before xmas.

I have the 12ft/lbs MFR and it gives about 300 shots in .22 so 80 at 30ft/lbs soulds realistic to me.

Well the big gun gives 420+ at 12 but I could not get more than 7 full mags of .22 at 30ftlbs before velocity started to drop (84 shots)

The 8th mag showed a definite drop in POI at 50 yards.

And we are talking a 400cc bottle versus a 280cc bottle (I think?).

Not that I do not believe it - just wondered how.

    Russ,

I remember reading that Theoben had come up with an even more efficient regulator. This gave them the opportunity to go back to the smaller buddy bottle.

I am guessing now but I think the new reg came first and the MFR followed as the logical conclusion.

If the FAC MFR is regged it may be a possibility, but if expertly fettled Mk2s with a 400cc bottle can only manage 100 is shots at 30FPE, I would be surprised if a 280 cc bottle is going ot give 80. If it does ot must be very efficient and also therfore quiet.
I wonder how long the barrel is?

I have never heard of a reg that works at 30ftlbs

Not sure but what about those Rippers that do 50ft.lbs.? I always assumed that all Ripley rifles had a regulator.

    Gary C, Baz, Terry......?

    Ripper is Regged.
If I remember correectly Stalker is regged too.

There are several firms that do regging and tuning on FAC airguns

Rippers go to about 40FP on the reg IIRC
