    Scope choice for FT starter

    Hi Guys,

Having a bit of a nervous breakdown with FT starter scope choice.

Looking at both the 8-32x44 Nikko Targetmaster and the BSA 8-32x50 Contender. After doing lots of searches either both scopes are good, or both are bad!!

One even said that the x32 was unusable on the Nikko due to it being too dark.

Then another said that that the Simmons 6.5-20x44 could range find better then either even though it was only 20X!

Any advice would be more than welcome!

    Cheers,

    Steve

You can get an 8-32 varmint for well within your budget. At my club there is a new c grade shooter who regularly outperforms b graders with "better" kit. He has a S200 out of the box with a home made polystyrene cheek piece taped on with insulation tape, and a varmint 8-32 scope.

The simmons 6.5-20 is optically very nice and you can get one second hand for about 150-ish.
