Muzzle End on my SA Jackal Hi-Power

    Hi.

Could anyone help with this question?

On the end on one of my Jackals there is a muzzle end piece. It has an internal thread of about 2cm in diameter.
( sorry for poor photography )

I presume that this is for a screw in silencer. If so is there any silencers out there that fit currently? Or is that they are only available from that era?

    Regards
    Paddy.

    Edit: Got better photos. <<HERE>> & <<HERE>

the only silencers that i know of with internally threaded adapters from the 80's was the old air logic whisperer silencer but the adapters didnt look anything like that one.

i have an air logic adapter that came with a vulcan(and spares) that i acquired a few days ago.

    hope this helps a bit

As per my PM - it looks like a job for UK Neil!

    Thanks guys.

The muzzle end is completely stuck to the barrel. So I'd have to send the whole gun to U.K Neil.

    Does anyone else know?

No I've not got to that stage.

Just thought if it is an adapter. Then I could just get a silencer for it. Hopefully.

Just a thought, but would one of the Bisley screw in silencers fit this?

There's even a Air-Arms one there. Just would be a pain in the Ar$e if I get it & it don't fit?

You could try finding a bolt that fitted the adapter - then you could send just the bolt to UK Neil, rather than the whole gun...

I took the Jackal to J. Knibbs today. To see if it was an adapter for a screw in silencer.

& yes it is an adapter, tried a silencer, screwed straight in. He even had a second hand Parker Hale one for £15. So I got that one.

Haven't tried it yet as daughter's friends here. I'll try it tomorrow.

    Regards
    Paddy.

I've tried the Jackal with the silencer.

It does dampen the noise. If you stand downrange (safely of course!). However it doesn't dampen the Twang of the spring.

Which is very loud. compared to my other Jackals. The quietest one is my A.A Firepower.

Mainly because I've got a spring shroud in it

I have never done internal work before. But I want to do a project on this one

Any suggestions before I do the paint job

    Regards
    Paddy.
