... I know, I have the breaking strain of a soggy celery stick when it comes to certain rifles -- and the MkI Airsporter is one of 'em .

Thank God for you Gareth, I was just about to 'press the button'. Phew.
Now you will be able to compare it to your RB2 and see if 50 years of intensive development resulted in a superior product ....

Also, as it is a 'shooter' rather than a collector's gun and according to Baz, extremely accurate, you might want to fit it with a Lyman aperture tang-sight. Then you can git down them railroad tracks and ketch yerself a whole parcel o'doves and squirrils and crawfish to give t'Mrs Gareth, and may the Lord strike me down but she will hustle up a fine Airsporter gumbo in no time.

You might have to encourage it to fit with a hammer and a drill but it will give you a longer sight base & better long range accuracy.

Hi Hsing-ee, an Airsporter gumbo eh? Actually I'm just BBQing two fresh pidgeon breast fillets courtesy of Mr Super Ten MkII , but maybe I'll go the gumbo route one day too . Ha ha ha ... Cheers Bro and ...

Hi Baz, Airsporter arrived today (my Birthday) and I have to say it is far better than expected . Stock is in great shape, and although a little thin, the bluing is still all there and it is chucking out Super Domes at a highly respectable 10.5ft.lb, which for an old girl of 1954 vintage is top draw : its a first class shooter (love my open sight shooting at 10yds and 25yds), and in my considered opinion, is also a first class display collectable too. Thanks again for a fantastic deal . ATB: Gareth W-B.
