Hi. As afore mentioned,
Firstly, i have the multi shot fitted and when i'm finishing shooting up for the day, i put an empty magazine in place and push the bolt back and dry fire, when i next come to shoot and i want to remove the mag i just keep moving the bolt back and forth till it pops the mag out without firing in between, will this damage the rifle at all?
And lastly, whats the minimum height mounts you can get away with when you have the multi shot fitted? The ones i have on now stand tall of the attachment by about 10mm. So i'm sure that shorter ones could be mounted to give better performance.

I don't think dry firing would do much damage but I can't see the point in it. Why not just push it roundAnd when you dry fire it when you finish shooting you can hold the bolt while it is open and the gun will de-cock.

when you pull the bolt back it indexes the mag to the next position and then locks it i think so you can't just spin it round. I know dry firing doesn't hurt a PCP i was more concerned that moving the bolt back and forward constantly without firing in between might damage the valve some how.

Is it good practice to leave a magazine in any rifle, when its not being used?

I can click a mag around in mine but only in one direction, reverse I think. No reason to leave the mag in during storage though if you need a place to store it just use an elastic band to hold it to the stock.

Be carefull of leaving the mag in and transporting as you then have "legally" speaking a loaded air gun. Pellets or no.
As to the mounts I have 30mm on no problem with the multi shot. (measured from centre of scope to base of mount) with a ruler so may be a few mm out)

On a different note glad i posted this thread then, always just put the mag back in empty for safe keeping. Now i know better![]()
I also bought a set of medium mounts today and now the scope just clears the multi-shot with just enough space to get the mag in and out. Should be a little more accurate now over a few yards.

Yeah I put mine on 30mm mounts last week.
It seems to hold less deviation now.
30 Yard zero. shooting at 45 yards is now slightly better. Now the mildots actually line up with the ranges im shooting at!! Which is nice!
