used to have one, traded it in for a harrier X FAC, I had the same problem as you couldnt get it to group well at all on long ranges on air arms feild tried bisley magnums made a difference, have a go with the heavier pellets and see if it makes much difference, if not then I dont know.

Jezza - no need to shout, WE CAN HEAR YOU <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Big Grin" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->

I'm interested to hear your problem, as AA400 series guns are so accurate at 12ft/lb's. I hope someone is able to help you, and will watch with interest.

If you draw a blank, it may be worth calling Nick Jenkinsion (Link Arms) 01803 842 683. I don't think there is much that he does not know about them. But I expect you will get lots of help from the inmates here too.

If the search function was working I'd asy look on there, but it's broken. I know that others have mentioned issues with the "E" model.

As Craig says, try a heavier pellet. BisMags work well in my friend's S410E and the 20.5 grain Exterminators are worth a try.

how many shots are you shooting before a refill?

I think that you will find that the full-power specification 410e has a fairly precipitous power curve.

I suspect that a reduction in power to 900 fps and a couple of chrono sessions will improve things no end.

The 410E doesn't have any way to adjust the power.

true, and a real shame... <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_frown.gif" alt="Frown" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:--> choking off the xfer port would sort it our nicely - as you say Russ, 900fps would be fine....

And reducing hammer spring would prolly increase the curve...

You might try asking at http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/79537 the 410E is very popular there.

    Yes it does.....

Gets some spare hammer springs and and Dremel tool and start cutting coils! That's how I did it on my Huntsman to get it from 42 down to 32'ish ftlbs.

I was surprised how much spring I had to chop off though!

Start easy and continue - will take a while but you will get there.

Alternatively check into buying a high-power reg - I seem to remember that someone sells them for the 410.

970 = about 33ftlbs, I am going to GUESS that with the air available in a 410E you are going to get no more than maybe 20-25 shots before the POI starts to wander - especially at longer ranges.

Drop it down to - say - 900 and I bet that the number of decent shots is in the mid 30's somewhere.

Personally I find that I got better and more consistant accuracy out of my FAC rated .22 PCP's using Barracuda's when the energy level was hovering around 30 ftlbs.

Drop to 26-28 or so and the AA Fields/Daystates/JSB's are fine - however pop even these stallwarts up to the 31/32 level and I was getting fliers from time to time.

And no - not the usual ones that "Driver" error brings in either but tested on the bench by myself and others....sheesh..... <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_cool.gif" alt="Cool" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->
