    Question Whats this gun?

O.K. anoraks at the ready. In my last three quizzes I was beaten by the BBS Brains. Now, I feel lucky with THIS one.

    WHATS THIS GUN?

The only clues I will give you is that its .22 and a break barrel.

Oooh I know I know ... It's an early smooth-bore SMK and someone has filed a groove on the top of the action for every time it has missed a ten yard target ... I see it has been fired five times then . Ha ha ha! Hiya Ian (nudge nudge wink wink ). I'm saying nothing ... (Gareth).

its not a fwb sport 127 as its safety is in the rear of the action.
not a weihrauch for obvious reasons.

    i'd say its an original.

    pellets on their way too!

I've always taken the wazz out of SMK's, but was given one recently to muck about with. It still needs some work, but it's doing 11.4 ft/lb with a variation of 2 ft/sec! (HWK internals). Barrel re-crowned. I've redone all the trigger, which is very useable now (took yonks). The barrel wasn't locking up too good, but thats been done now. Barrel has also been shimmed on either side to eliminate unwanted windage shift. Couple of pound of lead in the stock. Action cushioned into stock with draught excluder. Recoil is now negligable. First impressions are good, but really tested in anger yet.

    GOD FORGIVE ME>

Anyway, back to question...deffo a diopter gun. I'd still go on some FWB model.

Cheers for the pellets - but its not an Original.

Nice try but the 'arrestor holes' on a '335 are round and usually covered with little black plastic plugs.

    Sorry, missed this one. NO!

You are narrowing it down with a process of elimination. We now know what is not - but what IS it?

BTDT is, of course, barred from this quiz. Its not that he may know - I just love to bar him.
