If there is a fox set on your shoot, how many foxes are there likely to be and how many rabbits are they likely to take. Also if you leave a few rabbits out for them will they choose these over their live counter parts.

the ones around here eat the paunch from ones i've taken for myself, scummy ones, little ones and mixy ones left behind AND live ones.
they obviously prefer a meal they don't have to chase but watching them stalk and catch a bunny from your hide is something to behold!
dont know about bunnies but the fox near me has taken birds about 5 seconds after they hit the floor i think he follows me for easy dinner
if you want them shot will, let me knowits easy enough to do with the shotty and safe were i saw them. i dont think though they would be much of a problem at the moment, maybe when it comes to winter they might want thinning out
There is no answer to that question mate.
They will breed while there is plentiful game and so predation will increase until supply thins out.
That's nature
I thought it would be difficult to tell mate. We noticed some jumpy rabbits last night and saw two foxes and a set which used to be frequented by badgers. We thought that the rabbits were either jumpy by nature, the s had been in with the dogs or that the foxes had just moved in and were starting to do a number on them. It was more than likely that we spooked the rabbits with our presence and the fact that we now have foxes made me wonder how many they would take before we could shoot them ( the rabbits that is).

wouldnt worry about rabbits so much as game coz a fox will allways take feather before fur and so will taking pheasants and other ground nesting birds this time of year
there will be a vixen and the dog wont be far away either.usualy at least 2 or 3 cubs lol good luck
Thats good info, cheers mate.
