Thumbs up Walther 6x42 px, ir scope

I have just purchased one of these scopes as i am on a tight budget......

I bought mine from jsr, and when it arrived i was pleased to see good packaging and a sturdy scope box.

The scope came with free mounts, not the best and could do with being low mounts appose to the medium/high mounts supplied but they do the job nicely

The scope has a px adjustable range finder which i labeled in meteres and ranges from 10 to 300 (nice smooth rotation)

The scope has nice and clear optics and has a milldot recticule. The milldots are a lot tighter together than you get with other cheap scopes and would be appropriate for air rifle use.

There is also an i.r function which only illuminates the milldots etc and not the full cross hair. there is a brightness controll of 1-7 and at 7 is ok, does not blind you lol

overall thoughts on this scope is that it is very good value for money, you have everything there to just bolt it straight onto the rifle. its fixed magnification of 6 is adiquate for hunting. Great buy at just £38.95 inc free delivery

£38.95 is well cheap, I bought one of these about a year ago for £67.95,got to say mine isn't the best as there's some slight marking on the inside of the front lens, looks like a fine spray of oil. Quite heavy too,but like you said the mildots seem tighter/finer.

i used to have a 3-9x56 one a long time ago, and it had really really thick crosshairs!!

which is why i was pleasantly surprised when this one turned up think i might treat it to some new mounts at some point

will i be able to get away with low mounts you think??
