Talking HW57 Silencer Adapter - u.k.neil does it again!!!

Once again, u.k.neil has come up trumps with a silencer adapter for my Venom HW57. With an HW silencer attached, it has been transformed from a noisy lout in need of an ASBO to a well behaved, neighbour friendly, quiet thing that's quiet as a quiet thing!

    Here's a few pictures:-

1/2" UNF male thread (Neil machined the front flat, and threaded the front of the port).
With knurled ring, for when I don't need the silencer.
    Close-up showing HW silencer attached.
    Full-length shot of gun.

A big thanks to Neil for a job well done. He's one of the best...

    quality job!

I'm tempted to ask him to do one for me.

Does the HW add much weight?

The HW silencer is 195mm long and weighs 112g and Neil's adapter is very light, as it is made of alloy.

I've found during testing that the slight extra weight improves the stability of the rifle.

It really is amazingly quiet now...

He's made a beautiful job of the scope bracket I asked him for.

Started off with my half-arsed idea and a rough MS paint drawing, and made a precision crafted aluminium billet scope mount for my Rapid.

He even went as far as to mention how much fun it was to make!

Thanks again Neil, its just the job.

Any chance of a couple of pictures of your mount please???

I'm trying to adapt some standard 30mm mounts to fit on a friends Sirocco, and I'm looking for some inspiration!!! Although I don't think my efforts will be quite as good as Neils...

I'll try to sort a piccy out, but its a bar type mount to allow a Connect scope to sit on top of a Rapid, but overhang the rear of the action so you can get your eye right up to the eyepiece.

I just sent Neil the front sight/catch unit off the gun.

If you look at the first picture, you can see a pin towards the front of the unit and I used a suitably sized punch to remove it out (came out easy).

I then used a small piece of wood and a hammer to drift the unit off the barrel. I had to use a wallpaper stripper to give it some heat before it would come off, but other people said their's came off easily??? It was very simple to refit.

He sent me a stripper to sit on the end of my weapon.
