    Minimum loads

I am an experienced centrefire reloader but somewhat of a newbie when it comes to muzzle loading.........So using 777 in my .36 colt navy what is the lightest load I can use. I want to lower the charge so I don't have to aim off at the closer ranges. Currently I am using 15 grains with a wad then .375 ball. So how low can I go?

A lot will depend on you range. Mine does not allow under a certain MV as we have rubber cutains which can cause rebound if too slow.

777 in a .36 should be possible to go down to 8gr (by vol) quite well or even down to 6. One downfall is the need for more filler so the ball is not too far into the chamber.

I am down to 11gr in my .44 and still a good MV.
